Retirement Village, Vogel Street

There are 83 cottages at Cambridge Resthaven in The Close, The Court, Resthaven Gardens and The Views on Vogel.

Our retirement village has something quite unique – the feel of a real neighbourhood. We are not a ‘one-size-fits-all’ village; instead each of the four areas of the village has a quite different appearance and feel from the others.  These four areas were built at different times, Resthaven Gardens in the 1970s and 1980s through to The Views on Vogel in 2015.

The cottage and villas vary in size, appearance and price, offering a range of accommodation options for seniors in our community. There is shared capital gain for cottages or villas under an Occupation Right Agreement - any capital gain is shared 50/50 between Cambridge Resthaven and you.

The Villas and Cottages

Each area in the retirement village has a different look and feel, providing a variety of choices in appearance and size, and giving a lovely community feel, rather than looking like a one-size-fits-all retirement village.

The Cambridge Resthaven Trust Board give priority to Cambridge residents and then to those who have connections with Cambridge.

The cottages and villas range from one to three bedrooms. 80 are under Occupation Right Agreement (ORA) and three are for rent. The current cottages have been built over a period of twenty five years and therefore attract different "prices". The ORAs are sold at the current market valuation prices.

The Village Centre has the following:

  • Workout/Yoga Room

  • Library

  • Arts and Craft Room

  • Kitchen/Cafe Facility

  • Dining for up to 100 people

  • Hairdressers

  • Endless Pool with Treadmill

  • Small Meeting Room

Shared Capital Gain

Our Occupation Right Agreement terms provide significant benefits for residents including shared capital gain, priority access to care if the need arises, and no refurbishment costs when you leave.

Residents are visited regularly to touch base and ensure their general well-being, and there's always a good turn-out for the popular Monday morning tea that the Village Manager hosts for residents from the villas, cottages and apartments. We also have a varied social programme with activities and outings that are organised by our very active Social Committee.

Our CEO and Village Manager host Quarterly Forums in the Village Centre, giving all village residents the opportunity for general discussion and feedback.

Our Registered Nurse Sue Crowe holds a weekly Nurse Clinic in the Village Centre.
